About the Opportunity

The Susan McKinnon Foundation (SMF) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. This role is essential to our ongoing success, providing comprehensive financial management and accounting support. As part of our Finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR) processes and cash management
  • Handling intercompany charges, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Executing end-of-month procedures, including reviewing transactions and preparing financial statements
  • Processing payroll for multiple entities, including tax and superannuation lodgement
  • Preparing compliance reports such as FBT, franking credit returns, and insurance documentation
  • Assisting with audits, tax preparation, and ACNC reporting

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in commerce or accounting; CA or CPA qualification (highly regarded)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in financial accounting roles
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage financial data with accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and commitment to SMF’s mission
