About the Opportunity

The Susan McKinnon Foundation (SMF) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Events Producer to lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of high-quality events that align with our mission and program objectives. This role will contribute to SMF’s success by producing seamless events that elevate our external profile and support the foundation’s continued growth. Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Event Planning & Delivery: Develop event briefs, manage vendor selection, coordinate logistics, and ensure all aspects of events meet quality and budget standards.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with vendors (caterers, venues, AV, etc.), ensuring timely contract execution and seamless service delivery.
  • Communications & Promotion: Collaborate with the communications team to promote events via multiple channels and manage event collateral, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee event logistics, including venue setup, guest coordination, and troubleshooting during events to ensure smooth execution.
  • Event Evaluation & Collaboration: Collect feedback and collaborate with program teams to continuously improve event experiences and processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Event Management: 2+ years of in-house event production experience or a relevant qualification in Event Management, Communications, or Marketing.
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Vendor Relations: Proven ability to manage and negotiate with vendors to ensure high-quality event delivery.
  • Customer Service: Strong relationship-building skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences to both internal teams and event participants.
